May 1st, workers day and time to catch up on the blog... It's been a while, I know. Luckily I'm back on the bike and doing about 3 rides a week. Fabian and I do Cape Town to Chappies, with a coffee stop in Houtbay on Sundays. Last Wednesday I managed to pinch off some time and ride Woodstock to Stellenbosch again. This time with a new LED lenser headlight... cool stuff, I really helped at 05:00 in the morning navigating through Maitland, dodging the potholes. Anyhow, made it to work on time and head back earlier in the afternoon, whilst the temp was a mere 26/27 degrees C. An unfortunate rock caused a front tube burst in Goodwood, but a quick change later I was back on track, cruising at approx 28km/h through traffic. At home my brother was awaiting with a Windhoek Draft; "you're late..." So, yeah, some more consistent riding to keep up the pace is required. Whilst the Suzuki is in for repairs (bust gearbox seal), there's plenty opportunity to use the Raleigh to get to work.
